Job Description :
Position MIO’s IT team seeks a Senior Project Manager to support the execution of strategic projects and actively participate in Agile practices. The new hire will gain valuable experience in project management and the financial industry and contribute to the success of several initiatives across the firm. MIO has adopted a flexible, hybrid model that supports a blend of remote and in-office work.
Primary responsibilities Project support and coordination
Liaise with other Senior Project Managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
Collaborate with teams across functions, including portfolio managers, traders, analysts, and technology professionals to gather project requirements and provide updates
Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes
Agile methodology implementation
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, contributing to team alignment and continuous improvement
Work closely with Agile teams, helping to remove impediments and promote effective collaboration
Update and manage project backlogs, ensuring transparency and clarity on project tasks
Stakeholder communication
Assist in communicating project status, risks, and potential impacts to relevant stakeholders
Coordinate meetings, workshops, and presentations to facilitate effective communication across project teams
Foster a positive and constructive working relationship with stakeholders, promoting engagement and feedback
Risk management support
Contribute to the identification and documentation of project risks, assisting in the development of mitigation plans
Monitor project risks and dependencies, escalating potential issues to the Senior Project Manager when necessary
Budget and resource monitoring
Monitor project budgets and resource allocations, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and optimized resource utilization
Assist with tracking project-related expenses and resource utilization
Quality assurance
Participate in quality control activities to ensure project deliverables meet high standards and compliance requirements
Conduct project reviews to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned
Desired background The Senior Project Manager should be highly motivated, collaborative, accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, and willing to learn and implement new technologies. In addition, the individual will bring solid technical knowledge of application development within Cloud infrastructure to produce deliverables.
Bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, computer Science, or related field
10-15 years of experience managing IT projects in a corporate environment; development experience in Python, APIs, and middleware/databases highly desirable
Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) is advantageous; Scrum, Safe, or other Agile certification is desired
Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and technology migration is a plus
Familiarity with financial markets and investment instruments is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent organizational and time management skills; highly detail-oriented and an ability to multitask
Strong verbal and written communication skills; collaborative style and an ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Proficiency in project management tools, software, and systems
Certain US states require MIO Partners, Inc. to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the range for new joiners for this role in the United States is $175,000-$175,000. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual’s assigned office location, experience, and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to MIO’s discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
