My name is Abdelseed Ibrahim, and I hold a PhD in Dental Public Health from the National Ribat University in Sudan, an MSc in Dental Public Health from the University of The Western Cape in South Africa, and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences in Pakistan. My education and training have equipped me with a strong foundation in public health principles and practices, making me a competent and knowledgeable Public Health Expert. Throughout my career, I have held various positions in both academic and administrative roles. My administrative experiences include working for the Ministry of Health Khartoum State Sudan at the Oral Health Directorate, where I rose through the ranks to become the Director of Oral Health. In this role, I was responsible for strategic planning, preparation of annual plans, and the development of policies regarding health systems. I also had the honor of being a part of the task force that developed the first Sudanese Oral Health Policy, a significant achievement in my career. One of my proudest accomplishments was founding the Oral Health care for pregnant women attending public dental clinics, centers, and hospitals, which was one of my MSc research recommendations. This program has had a significant impact on improving the oral health of pregnant women and their children in Sudan. I am also proud to have played a significant role in the development of the Oral Health Information system in Khartoum State, Sudan. In addition to my educational background and professional experience, I possess a diverse set of skills that make me a well-rounded Public Health Expert. I am proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, as well as project management software such as MS Project and EndNote. I also have excellent oral and written communication skills, which have been essential in my previous roles, where I was required to liaise and negotiate with various stakeholders at all levels. My ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff and diverse personalities, cultures, and working styles has also been instrumental in my success. As a Public Health Expert, I have had the opportunity to play a significant role in the management of departments, including staffing decisions, administrative responsibilities, recruiting, and training. I have also been responsible for liaising and negotiating with dental and non-dental staff, both internally and externally, and have built and maintained strong relationships with various organizations and stakeholders. I have also been involved in monitoring population oral health indicators in the state's public facilities, adjusting budget lines, setting budgets and maintaining finances within tight constraints, and setting fees for health services in the state's public facilities. These experiences have honed my leadership, management, and financial skills, making me a valuable asset to any organization. Furthermore, my preference for working in Doha, Qatar, is another reason why I am excited about this position.
