Whitney Young High School Cover Letter

Dear Mr. Harris, I am interested in the high school English teaching position at Whitney Young High School. I am a recent graduate of Illinois State University and I have a degree in English Education. I have a passion for teaching and I am excited to start my career in a high school setting. I believe that I would be an excellent fit for this position. I have a strong knowledge of the English language and literature. I am also familiar with the Common Core State Standards, which are being implemented in high schools across the country. In addition to my academic qualifications, I have also worked with teenagers in a variety of settings. I have experience working as a camp counselor and a tutor. I have also volunteered in a high school classroom. These experiences have helped me to develop the skills necessary to be a successful teacher. I am excited to begin my career as a high school English teacher. I am committed to helping my students succeed academically and socially. I believe that I have the skills and qualifications necessary to be an excellent teacher. I am looking forward to contributing to the Whitney Young High School community.
