Dear Kayla,
Greetings from Mariah Shoemyer, your potential Computer Animation Tutor at Varsity Tutors! I hope this letter finds you in good humor, because let me tell you, I am one funny gal. But don't worry, I am also highly skilled in the field of computer animation and would be a fantastic addition to your team.
First off, I must say, I am absolutely stoked about the opportunity to work with Varsity Tutors. I have heard so many great things about your company, like how you offer flexible schedules and have a supportive team environment. And let's not forget the free snacks in the break room, because let's be real, nothing motivates me more than a good snack.
But enough about the snacks (for now), let's talk about the position of Computer Animation Tutor. I must say, it caught my eye for a few reasons. Firstly, I have been passionate about computer animation since I was a wee lass. I used to spend hours creating stop-motion videos with my Barbie dolls (don't judge me, they were the only ones who would sit still for that long). As I grew up, my love for animation only grew stronger and I pursued it in my academic and professional career.
Secondly, I love the idea of being able to share my knowledge and skills with others. I have always been that person in the group project who takes charge and makes sure everything looks top-notch. And let's be real, we all know how frustrating it can be to try and learn a new skill on our own. That's where I come in, as a tutor, I can guide and support students in their journey to becoming animation gurus.
Now, let me tell you a bit about my skills and experience. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Animation from the University of Funny Bones (yes, that's a real school, I promise). During my time there, I was able to learn a variety of animation techniques, from traditional hand-drawn to 3D modeling. I also had the opportunity to intern at a local animation studio, where I gained hands-on experience and honed my skills.
In terms of tutoring experience, I have been the go-to person among my friends and classmates when it comes to anything related to animation. I have a knack for breaking down complex concepts into more digestible chunks, and my patience knows no bounds (except when it comes to waiting for my pizza to be delivered, then I have no chill).
But my skills don't just end at animation. I am also a whiz at using various software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, and Blender. I am also familiar with coding languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which comes in handy when creating interactive animations. Basically, I am a computer wizard (but don't worry, I won't turn you into a frog or anything).
Aside from my technical skills, I also have great communication and interpersonal skills. I am a people person through and through. I love meeting new people and building relationships, and I believe that is an important aspect of being a tutor. I am also a good listener and can adapt my teaching style to fit the needs of each individual student. Plus, I am not afraid to break out some cheesy jokes to make the learning process more enjoyable (but don't worry, I won't overdo it, I promise).
In addition to my skills and experience, I am also extremely passionate about promoting diversity and inclusivity in the field of animation. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I understand the importance of representation and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. I am committed to empowering and encouraging individuals from all backgrounds to pursue their dreams in animation.
In conclusion, Kayla, I believe I have what it takes to be a successful Computer Animation Tutor at Varsity Tutors. I am passionate, skilled, and always up for a good laugh. I am excited about the opportunity to bring my knowledge and experience to your team and help students achieve their goals in animation. And let's not forget, I am also excited about the free snacks.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of meeting you and discussing this position further.
Sincerely,
Mariah Shoemyer (aka the animation queen)
