Dear Valara, Thank you for expressing interest in the volunteer position at the University of Merced. I am excited to have the opportunity to share my passion for helping others with you. As a student myself, I know how important it is to feel like you belong on campus. I remember how lost and alone I felt my first year of college. If it weren't for the friends I made in my dorm and at the volunteer center, I don't know how I would have made it through. That is why I am passionate about volunteering with the University of Merced. I want to help others feel like they belong here. I want to be a resource for students who are struggling and show them that there are people who care about them and want to help them succeed. I believe that I have the necessary skills to be an effective volunteer. I am patient, compassionate, and a good listener.
