passionate
creative
and art-loving event planner to fulfill this role on our Development team. The Events Lead
Development is responsible for the co-ordination
logistics and execution of scheduled events within the Development department
including exhibition openings
cultivation activities and annual fundraisers. The position will own the event portfolio as a key player on the Development team while working alongside colleagues throughout the McMichael Gallery. This individual will be the lead event coordinator responsible for the Gallery’s signature fundraiser
The Moonlight Gala
and a primary facilitator in McMichael’s Opening Night celebration of Art Toronto. Knowledge and Education: A minimum of 3 years’ event planning experience required. Post-secondary degree/diploma in event planning
marketing/communications
art/museum studies
public relations or an equivalent combination of education
training
and experience The ideal candidate will posses the below skills: Superior planning
organization and time management Demonstrate a high degree of initiative
judgement and problem-solving abilities Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure/stressful conditions and to meet multiple and competing deadlines Critical thinker who can make suggestions for improving processes Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of people within and outside of the museum Manage events administration: invoicing
budgets
permits and complying with ministry requirements Ability to collaborate within a team as well as across multiple departments Experience in a marketing/communication
fundraising
museums or cultural organizations are strong assets.
