Dear HR Manager, I am writing to apply for the PhD position: designing and assessing incentives for resilient Dutch landscapes at The Institute for Environmental Studies. This position is of great interest to me, as I am passionate about environmental sustainability and resilience. I have a Masters in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelors in Environmental Science from Addis Ababa University. My research experience includes a project on the resilience of the Ethiopian highlands to climate change, which I conducted as part of my Masters thesis. I have also worked as a research assistant on a project assessing the environmental impacts of gold mining in Ethiopia. I am confident that I have the skills and experience needed for this position. In particular, I have strong research and writing skills, as well as experience conducting fieldwork. I am also proficient in statistical analysis and GIS.
