I have had the opportunity to attend several conferences and seminars hosted by the university, and I have been continuously impressed by the cutting-edge research and innovation coming out of the Petroleum Engineering department. I am particularly drawn to the department’s focus on sustainable and renewable energy, CO2 capture and utilization, and biofuel production, which are all areas I am deeply passionate about.
In terms of my academic background, I have completed my PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and have been working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Houston for the past two years. During my PhD, I focused on developing novel materials for catalysis and biofuel production. My research has been published in several high-impact journals and I have presented my work at various international conferences. My experience as a Postdoctoral Research Associate has allowed me to further expand my expertise in biomass processing and CO2 capture and utilization, which I believe would be highly relevant to this role at Texas A&M University.
Besides my research experience, I also have a strong passion for teaching and mentoring students. During my time at the University of Texas at Austin, I had the opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in Chemical Engineering. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my knowledge and expertise with students and received excellent feedback from both students and faculty. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, I have also supervised and mentored several undergraduate and graduate students on research projects, preparing them for careers in academia and industry. I am confident that my experience and passion for teaching, combined with my research background, make me a strong candidate for this position.
In addition to my technical skills, I also possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. I have been actively involved in organizing and presenting at various workshops and symposiums, which have helped me develop excellent communication and leadership skills. I am also proficient in various software and coding languages, which would be highly beneficial for conducting research and teaching in the department.
As a highly motivated individual, I am committed to developing an independent, externally funded research program that aligns with the department’s goals and contributes to the field of Petroleum Engineering. I am excited about the prospect of working alongside the esteemed faculty at Texas A&M University and collaborating on research projects that have a positive impact on the industry and society.
