Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my interest in the position of Hockey Performance Coach at NTU. As a highly qualified and passionate coach with a Sport and Exercise Science degree, I am excited at the opportunity to join your esteemed organization and contribute to the development of young athletes.
I have always been a sports enthusiast and have been actively involved in hockey for over 10 years. My journey as a coach began during my college years, where I volunteered as a level 2 hockey coach and umpire for the school team. This experience sparked my interest in coaching and I decided to pursue it as a career.
Having completed my degree in Sport and Exercise Science, I gained a deeper understanding of the science behind sports performance and the importance of effective coaching. I believe that my academic background has equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in this role. Furthermore, my experience as a qualified level 2 hockey coach and umpire has given me valuable hands-on experience in training and managing a team.
One of the key reasons that attracted me to NTU is its strong emphasis on developing well-rounded athletes, not just in terms of their performance on the field, but also their character and personal growth. This aligns with my personal coaching philosophy, where I believe in nurturing athletes not just as players, but as individuals. I strongly believe that sports can be a powerful tool for character building and I am excited at the prospect of being a part of a team that shares this belief.
One of my greatest strengths as a coach is my ability to communicate effectively with my athletes. I firmly believe that effective communication is the foundation of a successful coach-athlete relationship. I make it a point to listen to my athletes, understand their needs and provide constructive feedback to help them improve. This has not only helped me build strong relationships with my players, but also enabled them to trust and have confidence in my coaching.
I am also well-versed in developing training programs that cater to the specific needs of individual players and the team as a whole. I understand the importance of a periodized training plan and have experience in designing and implementing one to ensure optimal performance during key competitions. I am also experienced in analyzing game footage and using it to identify areas for improvement and strategizing accordingly.
As a full-time role, I am fully committed to dedicating my time and energy to develop the hockey program at NTU. I am confident that my skills and experience make me an ideal fit for this role and I am eager to bring my passion and enthusiasm to the team.
In terms of location, I am currently based in Nottingham and would prefer to continue working in this area. Being familiar with the local community, I am excited at the prospect of being able to contribute to the growth of hockey in this region.
Thank you for considering my application. I am eager for the opportunity to discuss my qualifications and how I can contribute to the success of the hockey program at NTU. I have attached my resume for your review and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
