a training area for practical lesson demonstration
and documentation of the best methodology and practices for the USAID Youth Empowerment Activity. EDC is enrolling youth from the surrounding areas of Afex and partnering with hotels and business owners who are interested in enrolling their staff to receive training in Work Readiness and "Be Your Own Boss" skills
including functional literacy and numeracy skills. The Juba Office and Learning lab will serve the following purposes: 1) Curriculum improvement To Monitor and assess in real time what is working in P2 (and potentially P1 class) and what needs adjusting in the South Sudan context. 2) Improved teaching methodology and practices with Volunteer Trainers in the field. This would primarily be achieved by capturing on video good trainers/ good lessons/ best practices with trainers teaching actual classes that could then be incorporated in refresher trainings and made available to AOs and volunteer trainers in the fiend on USB drives. 3) Elevate the profile of the program USAID and potential donors and partners may not always be able to see the program in action in the field due to security considerations and the remoteness of field sites. Providing USAID and partners with a secure
