I built up a solid foundation in community engagement and outreach. In my role as Peer Mentor in the TRIO Scholars Program
a Fellow at the on-campus community garden
and an Intern at the campus food pantry at UCR
I supported my fellow students in meeting their basic needs
facilitated communication among university stakeholders
and honed communication and critical thinking skills toward addressing complex issues facing the UCR community. My recent role as a Labor Summer Fellow at the Inland Empire Labor Institute

has significantly strengthened my skill in community engagement
relationship-building with diverse stakeholders

and issue monitoring
all of which align closely with supporting the Mayor's office in community meetings
addressing constituent inquiries
and fostering collaborations with local organizations. During my fellowship
I developed community engagement plans for workers in the transportation and construction industries to support a regional initiative aimed at expanding high-quality blue-collar climate careers. I had the privilege of representing the organization at various labor
community
and environmental justice events
including webinars and community meetings. This experience not only deepened my understanding of community needs but also refined my skills in effectively advocating for their interests. Furthermore
