Dear Princeton University,
I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the Genetics and Genomics Major internship role at your esteemed institution. My name is Om Rane and I am currently a high school senior at Summerlin High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am highly interested in pursuing a career in genetics and genomics and I believe that Princeton University is the perfect place for me to gain the necessary experience and knowledge in this field.
As a top performing student, I am proud to share that I have maintained a GPA of 3.8 throughout my high school years. Additionally, I have achieved a remarkable SAT score of 1530, which I have been able to accomplish through my dedication and hard work. My passion for learning and excelling in academics has also been reflected in my 5 AP World History and 4 Biology AP track courses, including AP Chemistry, AP Language and Composition, AP Biology, AP United States History, and AP World History.
Apart from my academic achievements, I have also been actively involved in extracurricular activities. I have volunteered at the Summerlin Hospital, where I have been able to utilize my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the community. Moreover, I am excited to share that I have been selected for a pending NIH internship, which I believe will provide me with valuable experience and exposure in the field of genetics and genomics.
Furthermore, I am multilingual and proficient in Spanish and Mandarin, which I believe will be an asset in communicating with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have also been a part of the Las Vegas Youth Orchestra, where I have been able to showcase my passion for music and the arts. In addition to that, I have been a member of the BG Varsity Track team, which has not only helped me maintain a healthy and active lifestyle but has also taught me the importance of teamwork and perseverance.
Outside of my academic and extracurricular pursuits, I have a keen interest in traveling and exploring new cultures. I have been fortunate enough to visit various countries and I believe that these experiences have broadened my perspective and made me appreciate diversity. Moreover, I have a love for cooking, which I believe is an art that requires creativity and attention to detail.
One of the reasons I am particularly interested in this position at Princeton University is because of the cutting-edge research and advancements in genetics and genomics that are taking place at your institution. I have been following the work of your faculty and researchers, and I am highly impressed by the innovative and groundbreaking discoveries being made. I am confident that by being a part of your team, I will be able to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the progress in this field.
I am also drawn to Princeton University because of its diverse and inclusive community. I believe that being a part of such an environment will not only enhance my personal growth but will also provide me with the opportunity to collaborate and learn from individuals with different backgrounds and perspectives. I am excited to be a part of a community that values diversity and promotes a culture of inclusivity.
Furthermore, I am particularly interested in the internship role at Princeton University because it aligns perfectly with my skills and interests. As an active listener, I am highly empathetic and enjoy working with people. I believe that these qualities will enable me to effectively communicate and collaborate with my peers and mentors. Moreover, as the co-founder of FOILV Youth group organization, I have been able to develop my leadership skills and organizational abilities. I am confident that these skills will be valuable in a professional setting and I am eager to utilize them in this internship role.
In terms of location, I would prefer to intern at Princeton University in New Jersey. I have always been fascinated by the East Coast and I believe that being in close proximity to New York City and Philadelphia will provide me with the opportunity to explore and learn from two of the most diverse and culturally rich cities in the United States.
In conclusion, I am highly enthusiastic about the opportunity to intern at Princeton University as a Genetics and Genomics Major.
