Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my interest in the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Coordinator position at Plan International Nepal. I have been closely following the work of Plan International Nepal and I am impressed by the organization’s commitment towards promoting child rights and gender equality. With my background in legal advocacy and experience in research and evaluation, I am confident that I possess the skills and knowledge required to excel in this role.
As a legal expert and advocate, I have had the opportunity to work closely with Members of Parliament and state assembly members on issues related to child rights and gender equality. Through this experience, I have developed a deep understanding of the socio-political and cultural landscape of Nepal, especially in the post located districts. This knowledge, combined with my Master's degree in Constitutional Law and experience in teaching law school aspirants, has equipped me with the necessary expertise to analyze and understand the complexities of the development sector.
What particularly excites me about this position at Plan International Nepal is the opportunity to work towards strengthening the capacity of partner organizations in monitoring and evaluation. As the founding director and treasurer of a non-profit initiative to promote legal research, socio-legal discourse, and policy advocacy, I have had extensive experience in capacity building and providing technical support to partner organizations. In addition, my experience as a legislative counsel for Members of Parliament has also honed my skills in project cycle management, ensuring effective project monitoring, and implementing result-based monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
I am also drawn to Plan International Nepal’s commitment towards ensuring the rights of children and youth are respected and protected in all monitoring and evaluation activities. As a faculty member of Constitutional Law, I have always been passionate about promoting and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups. I strongly believe that this role at Plan International Nepal will provide me with the platform to make a tangible impact in this regard.
Furthermore, I am confident that my skills in data analysis, use of analytical tools, and experience in maintaining external information at the provincial and municipal level will be valuable in this role. My proficiency in using mobile and digital data collection tools and experience in implementing quality assurance standards for data also aligns with the technical expertise required for this position.
In terms of my preferred location, I would like to express my interest in working in Surkhet. Having grown up in a small town in Nepal, I am familiar with the challenges faced by marginalized communities in remote areas. I strongly believe that my experience and skills make me well-suited to work in Surkhet and contribute to Plan International Nepal’s efforts in promoting child rights and gender equality in the region.
As stated in the job description, this role requires someone with excellent negotiation, strategic thinking, and analytical skills. Having worked in diverse teams and managed multiple stakeholders, I have honed these skills and I am confident that I can bring a collaborative and innovative approach to this role.
I am also impressed by Plan International Nepal’s commitment towards accountability and safeguarding children and program participants. As someone who strongly believes in ethical practices and ensuring the protection of vulnerable groups, I am committed to upholding Plan International’s global policies and guidelines.
In conclusion, I am excited about the opportunity to join Plan International Nepal and contribute towards its mission of promoting child rights and gender equality. My skills and experience align well with the requirements of this role and I am confident that I can make a valuable contribution to the organization. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my application further and demonstrate my passion and enthusiasm for this role in person.
Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,
