To the members of the search committee,
I am writing to express my interest in the postdoctoral fellow position at the Pembroke Center at Brown University. This position is of great interest to me because of my research interests in intersections of race, gender, and sexuality; and because of my commitment to feminist, anti-racist, and social justice work.
I am a qualitative researcher with experience conducting interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic fieldwork. I have also done extensive archival research. My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Harvard Educational Review, Sexuality Research and Social Policy, and the Journal of Research on Adolescence. In addition to my research experience, I have taught courses on gender, sexuality, and education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and have experience working with students from a range of backgrounds.
I believe that my research experience and commitment to social justice work make me an ideal candidate for this position. I am excited to work with the Pembroke Center’s community of scholars and to contribute to the center’s mission of promoting feminist scholarship.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Leyneuf
