I have always been drawn to the field of ministry and have been actively involved in various youth and young adult programs within my local community. As mentioned in the job description, I have a tertiary qualification in theology and have also completed courses in religious education and ministry. My educational background has equipped me with a strong foundation in Catholic teachings and has deepened my understanding of the importance of discipleship in the life of a Catholic. I am constantly seeking opportunities to further my education and am currently working towards a certification in Youth Ministry through the National Association for Catholic Youth Ministry (NACYML).
In addition to my academic qualifications, I have also gained valuable experience in youth and young adult ministry through my involvement in various programs and events. I have organized and facilitated Bible studies, retreats, and service projects for young adults and have witnessed firsthand the impact of discipleship in their lives. I am confident that my experience in this field, coupled with my personal faith and heart for mission, make me a strong candidate for the role of Discipleship Specialist – Young Adults.
One aspect of this position that particularly caught my attention is the opportunity to identify and equip local missionary leaders in young adult ministry. I believe that investing in and empowering leaders is crucial in building a strong and vibrant community of young adult disciples. With my experience in mentoring and training young adults, I am confident that I can effectively identify and equip leaders who will continue the work of discipleship in their respective communities.
Furthermore, I am also excited about the prospect of developing resources, training, and initiatives that will enable young adult discipleship in various parish and community settings. With my background in theology and religious education, I am well-equipped to create relevant and engaging materials that will aid in the formation of young adult disciples. I am also eager to collaborate with the other members of the team to come up with innovative ideas and strategies to reach out to young adults and invite them into a deeper relationship with Christ.
Lastly, I am drawn to the mission of The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne in creating an engaging environment where young adults encounter Christ and grow as missionary disciples. I strongly believe that the future of the Church relies on the active involvement of young adults, and I am committed to being a part of this mission. I am confident that my skills, passion, and experience make me a suitable candidate for this role and I am eager to contribute my strengths towards this mission.
