I believe that this will not only benefit my own child, who is currently in 6th grade, but also allow me to contribute to creating vertical alignment between the middle school and high school in Manteo. This is one of our departmental goals for the next two years and I am excited to be a part of this effort. As the world continues to evolve, I believe that online education is the way of the future and I am eager to be a part of it. The use of technology in education has always been a passion of mine and I have consistently incorporated it into my teaching practices. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was able to successfully adapt to remote learning and continue delivering quality education to my students. As an AVID trained teacher, I am dedicated to helping students develop these skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration, and organization. In addition to my teaching experience, I am also a National Board Certified teacher. Lastly, I would like to mention that my husband is also a teacher and we have a 12-year-old son who is almost done with 6th grade.
