To be responsible for the supervision of cleaning methods and frequencies in a designated area of the hospital
ensuring that the required standards are achieved. To supervise the domestic assistants
to ensure that their duties are carried out safely and using correct procedures and materials at frequencies laid down in the specification of work. Also the training of domestics to use machinery and the correct methods of cleaning. To ensure timely completion of PLB/appraisals for domestic staff. To ensure all mandatory training is completed on time. KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of technical aspects of the job

EXPERIENCE Experience of working in domestic services environment Previous experience in the Cleaning Industry Previous Supervisory experience QUALIFICATIONS NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification such as BICS (or working towards) PERSONALITY/ DISPOSITION Able to use own initiative Flexible approach to work Tolerance of customers’ needs. Qualified up to NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification such as BICS (or working towards). Trust induction Knowledge of: o Infection Control Policies and Procedures relating to cleanliness and standards of hygiene o To be aware of all COSHH regulations with all cleaning chemicals / substances used. o To receive training for specialist areas i.e. MRI Scanner areas
Laboratory areas
Operating Theatres etc. o Technical aspects of the job (i.e. chemicals
furniture and fittings the cleaning of
isolation policies and procedures.) All gained through attendance at short courses / lectures. Annually attend mandatory training on Trust courses i.e. Fire Lectures
