rigid and nonperson centred. I found this to be the case not only for myself but the neurodivergent individuals seeking care within the NHS. This experience remains prominent in my mind as it changed the course of my career path
having wanted to work with the NHS most of my life to provide therapeutic services to individuals like myself there was a realisation that I couldn’t be held or contained within NHS. My focus steered towards advocating for neurodivergent individuals in a charity; holding meetings with the patients along with care teams to actively make sure they are as much a part of the process of their own care as anyone else and taking a much more holistic approach to care using the same values as the culture of care programme.
