Dear HR (Highly Respected) at MongoDB,
Greetings from a fellow techie and future software engineer intern, Prajwol Shrestha! I know, I know, you must be wondering why I'm writing to you in such a funny tone. Well, let's just say I couldn't resist the opportunity to stand out from the sea of boring cover letters you must be receiving. Plus, I've heard that laughter is the best way to a recruiter's heart. Am I right or am I right?
First of all, let me start by saying how much I admire your company. MongoDB has been on my radar ever since I started my journey in the tech world. Your innovative approach to database management and your commitment to constantly evolving and improving your product is truly inspiring. And let's not forget the adorable logo with the cute little animal. I mean, who doesn't love a good animal mascot?
Now, let's talk about the position that I'm applying for - Software Engineer Intern. I have to say, this job description made me do a happy dance in my room (yes, I'm that excited about it). The opportunity to work on real projects and contribute to the development of a cutting-edge technology like MongoDB is something that I've been dreaming of since I wrote my first line of code. And the fact that this internship is paid? Well, let's just say I'll be able to afford more than just instant noodles for dinner.
But what really caught my eye (besides the amazing salary and the cute mascot, of course) is the emphasis on learning and growth. As a fresh graduate, I'm hungry for knowledge and eager to learn new skills. And I believe that MongoDB is the perfect place for me to do just that. Your company culture of continuous learning and development aligns perfectly with my own personal values. I'm a firm believer in the quote "The day you stop learning is the day you stop living." And let me tell you, I'm not ready to stop living just yet.
Now, let me tell you a bit about my skills. I have a solid foundation in computer science and programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python. I have also dabbled in web development and have a good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. But my real passion lies in database management. I find the concept of storing, organizing, and retrieving data fascinating (I know, I'm a nerd). And I'm confident that with my skills and your guidance, I'll be able to make a valuable contribution to your team.
But wait, there's more! I'm not just a code-writing machine. I'm also a team player (and occasional joke-cracker). I believe that a cohesive and supportive team is essential for the success of any project. And I'm always willing to lend a helping hand to my team members, whether it's debugging a tricky piece of code or bringing coffee for everyone during a late-night coding session. Plus, I'm a quick learner and adapt easily to new environments. So, you won't have to worry about me being a burden on your team (unless you count my bad puns as a burden).
I know, I may seem like the perfect candidate (if I do say so myself). But I do have a couple of weaknesses (yes, I'm not perfect, I know, shocking). My biggest weakness is probably my love for pizza. I mean, who can resist a hot, cheesy slice of pizza? But don't worry, I'll try to contain my cravings during work hours (no promises for lunch breaks though).
In all seriousness, I am very excited about the opportunity to join the MongoDB team as a Software Engineer Intern. I believe that my skills, enthusiasm, and love for pizza make me a strong candidate for the position. I can assure you that I will work hard, learn as much as I can, and make the most out of this internship. And who knows, maybe if you like me enough, you'll offer me a full-time job at the end of it (fingers crossed).
Thank you for taking the time to read my cover letter. I look forward to hearing back from you and hopefully, meeting you in person (I promise I'll tone down the jokes in person, I don't want to scare you away).
Best,
Prajwol Shrestha, your potential Software Engineer Intern (fingers crossed again)
