Dear Principal, I am writing to apply for a leave of absence from my position as a teacher at XYZ School. I have been a teacher at XYZ School for the past 5 years and have enjoyed my time here. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such amazing students and colleagues. However, I am requesting a leave of absence for the upcoming school year as I will be traveling overseas. I am very excited for this opportunity to travel and learn more about other cultures. I am confident that my substitute will be able to handle my classes in my absence and I will be available via email if needed. I have also attached a copy of my lesson plans for the upcoming year.
