My experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders and my ability to think strategically and solve complex problems at an organizational level make me well-suited for this aspect of the role.
In addition, I am drawn to the role's focus on accountability to program participants and international standards guiding humanitarian and development work. I firmly believe in the importance of engaging participant communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of field projects, and I am committed to upholding these standards in my work.
My educational background and qualifications also make me a strong fit for this position. I hold a BA in international development and an advanced degree in finance and accounting. I am also an internationally recognized project management professional, and I am committed to obtaining further qualifications in the early months of work. Moreover, my 8-10 years of field experience in senior management and direct program implementation, coupled with my proficiency and experience with various donors and their financial management requirements, make me a highly competent candidate for this role.
Finally, I am excited about the opportunity to live and work in Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Kampala, or another registered location of Mercy Corps. I am comfortable with up to 30% travel to support country programs, and I am well-versed in working in insecure locations and adapting to different living conditions.
