MSF international guidelines are regularly updated and published in digital and print. They are based on extensive practical experience from MSF programs
recommendations published by the World Health Organisation and other leading medical institutions
and evidence based on research and scientific literature. The International Guideline Publications (IGP) team was established to ensure the quality production of MSF guidelines. There are currently around 30 international guidelines in the MSF guidelines library
accessible at medicalguidelines.msf.org
some produced in multiple languages (English

Arabic) and a selection with open access to the public. III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION The Editor is a member of the IGP team of MSF International. The Editor is under the direct supervision of and reports to the IGP Manager. Collaboration with the IGP team members and relevant MSF experts is essential to ensure the quality and consistency of MSF's international guidelines. IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION The purpose of the Editor is to edit the Essential Drugs and to ensure editorial layout review of assigned guidelines. This includes: Content and line editing
quality assurance
and to support the author in keeping the development process oversight of Essential Drugs updates. Layout accuracy and consistency: ensure that the layout of MSF’s international guidelines is accurate and consistent across both print and digital formats
adhering to editorial style and guidelines. Formatting review: conduct comprehensive reviews to verify correct content positioning
drug dosage citations
and proper formatting of all elements
including images and hyperlinks. Collaboration for layout adjustments: work closely with the layout officer to discuss and implement necessary adjustments. Final review and approval: review and approve the final versions of guidelines in print and digital version
ensuring all content and layout issues are resolved before publication. V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Editor tasks for Essential Drugs Content editing per new/revised drug sheet Provide feedback on draft updates/changes upon request by the author; Ensure text is concise
coherent
and aligns with the Guide for Producing Guidelines where relevant; Verify text is supported by evidence/validated reference sources and review the quality and accuracy of references and information coherence; Suggest and discuss any necessary clarifications
modifications
or reorganization with the author to enhance readability and understanding; Verify accuracy and consistency regarding drug dosages and calculations with Clinical guidelines
other relevant guidelines
and medical catalogues
and report inconsistencies to the author; Ensure all assigned experts have provided their input; Provide input for arbitration if requested. Submit the revised drug sheets to the layout officer to prepare for publication in print and digital formats. For translation: Review and verify the final text before sending it to the Translator Coordinator. Once confirmed
deliver the approved text. Respond to questions from the Translation coordinator or translators or language editors directly or if needed send to author(s); Check the translated version in native language on content and terminologies and report errors if any; Validation of the translated versions in native language and sending it to the lay out officer for publication in print and digital version. 2. Layout and Content Review Ensure the layout of MSF’s international guidelines is accurate and consistent across both print and digital formats. Conduct a comprehensive review of the final layout for both print and digital versions. Verify that the guidelines adhere to MSF’s editorial style. Review if all content is correctly positioned and that there are no layout errors. Verify if all drug dosages are correctly cited. Ensure all elements such as headings
subheadings
tables
and figures are correctly formatted. Check that all illustrations
images
and photos are appropriately placed and have the necessary copyright permissions. Check interactive elements in digital versions
such as hyperlinks and multimedia components
for functionality. Discuss any necessary layout adjustments with the layout officer to enhance readability and accessibility. 3. Final Approval Conduct a final review of the guidelines for both print and digital versions before they are published to ensure all content and layout issues have been addressed. Job requirements Qualifications University degree or diploma in pharmacy

or a related field. Work Experience Experience in clinical pharmacy
