Dear Hiring Manager,
Greetings and salutations! I hope this letter finds you in a great mood, preferably one that involves a lot of laughter and snacks. My name is Matthew Willis and I am writing to express my interest in the Prop Design and Costume/Makeup position at Kammerspiele.
First of all, let me just say, what an epic name for a company! Kammerspiele sounds like a combination of "camera" and "spiel" which I assume means "play" in German. Either way, I'm already loving the vibes and I'm pretty sure I'll fit right in with your team of talented individuals.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have over 15 years of experience in drag and character impersonation. Yes, you read that right, I am a master of transformation and can turn into almost anyone with just a few makeup brushes and a wig. From Lady Gaga to Beyonce, I've done it all. But wait, there's more! I am also skilled in special effects and prosthetic makeup, because let's be real, sometimes regular makeup just doesn't cut it. I can work with latex and create realistic wounds, scars, and even aged wrinkles. Trust me, I've made myself look like a 90-year-old grandma and it was a hit at the last Halloween party.
What really caught my eye about this particular position at Kammerspiele is the opportunity to work with props. I have always been fascinated by the magic of props and how they can bring a whole new level of depth and realism to a performance. I have a natural eye for detail and creativity, which I believe will come in handy when designing and creating props for your productions. Plus, I have a secret talent for crafting things out of unconventional materials, like turning a cardboard box into a functioning robot suit. I know, I'm basically a superhero.
But that's not all, I also have experience in costume design and construction. As a drag performer, I have had to create elaborate and over-the-top costumes that are not only visually stunning but also functional for a show. I can sew, glue, and bedazzle like nobody's business. And let's not forget about makeup. I am a master of contouring, blending, and creating flawless looks that will leave your audience in awe.
I must say, I am extremely impressed by the reputation and success of Kammerspiele. Your productions have always been known for their high-quality and innovative designs. I would love to be a part of such a dynamic and creative team. I believe that my skills and experience would be a valuable addition to the company and I am eager to contribute my talents to help bring your productions to life.
In addition to my skills, I also have a great sense of humor and a positive attitude. I believe that in the world of entertainment, it's important to be able to laugh and have fun while working hard. I am a team player and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure a production is a success.
I have attached my resume for your review and would love the opportunity to discuss my qualifications further in an interview. Thank you for considering me for the Prop Design and Costume/Makeup position at Kammerspiele. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully joining your team of creative geniuses.
Sincerely,
Matthew Willis
