Dear Faculty-Adjunct-Master of Public Health Program, My name is Abdelseed Ibrahim and I am writing to express my interest in the Faculty-Adjunct-Master of Public Health Program position at Johnson and Wales University. With over 15 years of experience in the field of public and dental public health, I am confident that I possess the necessary skills and qualifications to excel in this role. I hold a PhD in Dental Public Health from the University of The National Ribat University in Sudan, as well as an MSc in Dental Public Health from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences in Pakistan. Through my academic journey, I have developed a strong foundation in public health principles and have gained a deep understanding of the complexities of the field. In terms of my academic experience, I have worked as a lecturer at several dental faculties in Sudan. I have also had the opportunity to supervise master students in public health and dental public health, as well as serve as an examiner for the same master program. I take great pride in helping undergraduate and postgraduate students in choosing their research titles and guiding them through the process of writing their proposals and theses. Additionally, I have been involved in reviewing and designing curricula for several dental faculties in Sudan, and have been instrumental in developing plans, strategies, and policies for dental faculties in the country. My administrative experience is equally extensive, having worked at the State Ministry of Health in Khartoum, Sudan. In this role, I held various positions including Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Director of Quality Control, Director of Planning, and Director of Preventive Dentistry. I was also responsible for managing the school oral health care program, as well as the oral health care program for pregnant women attending public dental clinics and centers and hospitals. One of my greatest achievements was being promoted to the top management position of Director of the Oral Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health in Khartoum. In addition, I have also worked as the Director of the Information Resources section at the Research Directorate, where I was responsible for preparing annual plans, strategies, and policies regarding health systems. My preference for Providence, Rhode Island, as a location for this position stems from the fact that it is a vibrant and diverse community with a strong focus on education and healthcare. I am drawn to Johnson and Wales University because of its reputation for excellence in teaching and its commitment to innovation and community engagement. Furthermore, I am impressed by the university's Master of Public Health Program and its dedication to producing highly skilled and socially responsible public health professionals.
