As a highly skilled and experienced engineer in the field of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my knowledge and expertise to such a prestigious institution.
I have been following the work of the Robert F. Smith School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and the Systems Engineering Program at Cornell University and have been impressed by the cutting-edge research and education being conducted in these fields. The focus on sustainable and renewable energy, biomolecular engineering, and systems analysis aligns perfectly with my own passions and expertise. I am particularly drawn to the CBE's mission of preparing students for life-long achievement through education in the principles of chemical engineering and the development of communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. I strongly believe that these are crucial skills for success in any field, and I am confident that I can contribute to this mission through my experience and expertise.
My skills in engineering education, chemical engineering, advanced materials, catalysis, biofuel production, biomass processing, sustainable and renewable energy, and CO2 capture and utilization make me an ideal fit for this position. With over 10 years of experience in the industry and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering, I have a solid understanding of the complex processes involved in chemical and biomolecular engineering. My research work has focused on developing sustainable and scalable energy technologies, which I believe will be highly beneficial in the CBE's research endeavors. My experience in teaching at the graduate level has also allowed me to hone my skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership, which are essential for success in academia.
I am particularly drawn to the Systems Engineering Program within the College of Engineering and its unique transdisciplinary approach to education. The program's focus on complex engineering, socio-technical, and policy challenges aligns with my own expertise in computational process and product design and statistical mechanics. I am excited about the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and faculty from various disciplines, companies, and countries, and contribute to the program's growth and success.
As for my location preference, Ithaca, NY 14853 is my top choice. I am familiar with the area and have always been impressed by the vibrant academic community and the beautiful surroundings. I am confident that I will thrive in such an environment and make valuable contributions to the Cornell community.
In addition to my technical skills, I am also passionate about mentoring and guiding students. As a faculty member, I aim to not only teach students but also inspire and guide them towards achieving their full potential. I am a firm believer in the power of education to shape individuals and society, and I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of a program that shares this belief.
