Customer Service Representative Cover Letter At Christchurch City Council

Christchurch City Council

Christchurch

I have a bubbly personality and love chatting with patients/customer with a great clear voice and love to engage with patients/ customers whether that be on the phone or in person and just love helping people. I have worked in various areas of Christchurch hospital on the casual team as an administrator my last role being in Eyes outpatients where I could be busy answering calls from patients
carers
taxi drivers and staff whilst completing other administrative tasks. We had a high volume of patients that had eye and hearing problems that after negotiating the traffic and finding a park when arriving at the clinic could be quite frazzled. I would greet them with a cherry smile and kind hello while checking them in or filling forms in and arranging another appointment. In this role I could be on the front counter on my own or with other team members. Regarding having good vision and dexterity with repairing and cleaning hearing aids. When in banking
I had a lot of customers with hearing difficulties an example of this is while on the counter I had an older lady and she needed to confirm some details with me. Her mobility was limited
and she had forgotten her glasses. She could not hear what I was saying at the noisy bank counter her hearing aid batteries had died and she had a spare in her purse
so I offered to replace the batteries because she could not see where to put them and as she said her hands didn’t work as well anymore. She thanked me as we were able to complete what she needed doing that day
so she did not need to come back again. It gives me a thrill to help people. At home I love doing DIY and really like repairing things. I would be more than happy to preform minor hearing aid repairs. When my daughter was younger
she had hearing issues and I used to have to take her to the hospital to get her ears checked at least a couple of times a year and understand what it’s like to be a parent and calming a child when going to a hearing appointment. In many of my roles I have taken payments and invoiced the customers or paid suppliers among other accounting duties. I miss chatting with customers/patients and being front facing and helping people and this is one of the reasons I would like to apply for this role
and I love working in a small or large team. I have dealt with couriers in many of my role sending or receiving items. During my time in banking
I have dealt with sole traders or small businesses in their varying stages of the growth of their businesses and loved celebrating the different milestones with them. I understand that new business it can be exciting and stressful at the same time. I would love the chance to be a part of helping your young business grow. Having great literacy and computer skills and a basic understanding of using social media platforms in my previous roles weather that be answering online enquiries or checking the company’s information was up to date. I realise it’s one of the many important parts to a business. Possessing excellent time management skills an example of this is when I was working and studying
I would not have been able to complete my course and be able to work at the same time if I did not possess this skill. I am also used to working autonomously or as part of a team. With my great personality and ability to learn weather that be study or the many processes I have learned over time. I agree with your statement “personality can’t be taught everything else canWith many years in banking and other customer service-focused industries. My ambition is always to exceed my past performance whether that be with customer service resulting in a great customer experience or gaining further education to upskill myself.
