With over a decade of experience in law enforcement, I possess a diverse set of skills and knowledge that would allow me to excel in the Police and Crisis team Sergeant position. My strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, would enable me to effectively manage and analyze data, prepare reports, and deliver presentations. Additionally, my in-depth understanding of the Mental Health Act of Alberta and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act would be invaluable in ensuring the protection of individuals’ rights and privacy.
In my current role as a Police Sergeant, I have developed a strong working knowledge of community resources within the homelessness, mental health, and addiction sectors. This has allowed me to effectively collaborate with external partners and provide appropriate support to individuals in crisis. I have also demonstrated my ability to work cooperatively with both civilians and sworn members, and I am confident in my ability to effectively manage and lead a team.
As a seasoned law enforcement professional, I have also honed my public speaking skills and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. I am comfortable communicating with individuals from diverse backgrounds and am able to adapt my communication style as needed. My strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and trust with others have been instrumental in my success as a supervisor and leader.
In my current role, I am responsible for managing and supervising a team of officers, ensuring accountability and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment. I am confident that my strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities would be an asset in the Police and Crisis team Sergeant role.
