Dear Bob,
Greetings from Josh, a fellow craftman in the making! I recently stumbled upon an opening for a craftman at BIZ and I couldn't resist the urge to apply. I mean, have you seen the job description? It practically screams my name (not literally, that would be weird).
First things first, let me introduce myself. I'm Josh, a self-proclaimed master of all trades (except for knitting, I can barely manage a scarf). I've always had a passion for creating things with my hands and making something out of nothing. Whether it's woodworking, metalworking, or even pottery, I'm always up for a challenge. And that's why I believe I would be a perfect fit for the craftman position at BIZ.
Now, let's talk about BIZ. I did my research (yes, I can be a responsible adult when I want to) and I must say, I'm impressed. Your company's commitment to quality and attention to detail is exactly what I look for in a workplace. Plus, the fact that you have a foosball table in the break room tells me that it's not all work and no play at BIZ. And let's be honest, a little friendly competition never hurt anyone.
But what caught my eye the most was the variety of projects that BIZ takes on. From custom furniture to intricate metal sculptures, your company seems to have a knack for bringing ideas to life. And that's exactly what I want to be a part of. I want to be challenged, to learn new techniques, and to push my creativity to its limits. And I believe that BIZ can provide me with all of that and more.
Now, let's get down to business. I know you're probably wondering what makes me stand out from the other craftmen out there. Well, buckle up because I'm about to blow your mind (or at least make you chuckle).
First and foremost, I have a keen eye for detail. Some may call it OCD, but I prefer to think of it as being thorough. Whether it's measuring twice (or thrice) to make sure everything is precise or adding an extra coat of varnish for a flawless finish, I refuse to settle for anything less than perfection.
Secondly, I have a wide range of skills that I have acquired over the years. From working with wood, metal, and clay to mastering different techniques such as carving, welding, and throwing, I'm like a Swiss Army knife of craftsmanship (minus the corkscrew, I can never seem to find a use for that).
But what truly sets me apart is my ability to think outside the box. I believe that the best ideas come from unconventional thinking and I'm not afraid to take risks. Want a coffee table made out of old skateboard decks? I'm your guy. How about a chandelier made out of bicycle chains? Consider it done. Give me a challenge and I'll give you a masterpiece.
And let's not forget about my work ethic. I may have a laid-back demeanor (it's the beard, isn't it?), but when it comes to my craft, I am serious and dedicated. I take pride in my work and will not rest until the project is completed to the best of my abilities.
Now, I know you're probably thinking, "Wow, this Josh guy sounds too good to be true. Is he for real?" The answer is yes, I am very real. In fact, I would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss how I can contribute to the success of BIZ as a craftman. And let's be honest, having someone as skilled and charming as myself on your team would be a great asset (I may be biased, but I have excellent references to back me up).
Thank you for taking the time to read my cover letter (sorry, I know it's a bit lengthy, but I have a lot to say). I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully, becoming a part of the BIZ family. And just to show you how serious I am about this position, I've attached a picture of me wearing a BIZ t-shirt that I may or may not have photoshopped.
Sincerely,
Josh, the craftman extraordinaire (in training)
