I have also completed crew leader training and have facilitated training sessions for new recruits, which have been highly successful in preparing them for the demanding and dynamic nature of this work.
In addition to my technical skills, I have also held various leadership positions in my previous roles, further developing my ability to effectively manage teams and handle high-pressure situations. I am organized and flexible, able to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks efficiently. My strong interpersonal skills have also allowed me to build and maintain positive relationships with my team members, which has been crucial in ensuring a cohesive and efficient working environment.
What specifically stands out to me about the Wildfire Assistant role at BC Wildfire Service is the opportunity to work at the Chetwynd Forward Attack Base. I have always been drawn to this region and have spent a considerable amount of time exploring the beautiful landscapes and connecting with the local community. I am familiar with the unique challenges and terrain of this area, and I am confident that my knowledge and experience will be an asset in this role.
Furthermore, I am highly motivated by the prospect of working in a managerial position. I am eager to take on more responsibility and use my skills and experience to support and guide my team in successfully managing wildfires.
