St Thomas More School is a Reception to Year 6 school in the Elizabeth Catholic Parish. We are a welcoming Catholic community with the Mercy tradition and values embedded in all we do. The Role Permanent Part-Time commencing 22 January 2024 22.5 hours per week and 40 weeks per year (approx. 0.5FTE) 3 days per week from 8.00am to 4.00pm Catholic Education ESO Grade 6 The School Counsellor supports school leadership through the application of specialist professional knowledge and strategies to identify and address student issues in order to promote student safety, wellbeing, and to facilitate successful learning. The School Counsellor, as a qualified professional, works with school leaders, staff, families and external agencies to support the wellbeing of students and provide confidential counselling to students including where emotional, social or scholastic matters. The School Counsellor forms a vital part of the support services available to students. The role includes elements of counselling, triage, case management and proactive, psycho-educative work.
