and pharmacogenetic research from academia to the biotech/biopharma industry. I have led UCSF’s Clinical Pharmacology fellowship and taught genetics and pharmacogenetics to all first-year PharmD students for nearly two decades. My work has involved collaborations with biotech firms

and NIH. As an intensive care unit (ICU) physician
I am well-trained to understand the pathophysiology and care for patients with cardiovascular
immunologic
and oncology diseases. As principal investigator for critical studies such as GALA
SAGE
and PRIMERO
I have led projects targeting clinical
genetic
and pharmacogenetic asthma studies in over 16
000 African-American
Puerto Rican
and Mexican children. These roles required the direction of cross-functional teams
effective communication with management
and alignment of strategic goals within a pharmaceutical setting. I have demonstrated my ability to engage senior leadership
drive strategic decisions
and implement change
cultivating team capability and securing buy-in for sustainable innovation. Notably
the PRIMERO birth cohort study in which we recruited 2
300 mother-infant pairs during the COVID Shelter in Place. Under my supervision
we achieved 95% recruitment despite the pandemic
akin to managing a clinical trial from inception to completion. My background aligns with the FDA's inclusivity standards for clinical trials. I am prepared to apply this experience to your drug development initiatives to streamline the process and mitigate costs.
