My patients and their families have consistently requested me due to my ability to communicate and educate effectively, resulting in successful functional outcomes. At Vanderbilt Homehealth, I have further honed my skills as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant by providing skilled PT services in-home, facilities, and senior care centers across the Nashville area. I have also gained experience in managing patient load, scheduling, and coordinating with the supervising PT to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care. I am also highly skilled in explaining complex concepts in layman's terms and utilizing therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, ice, and massage to treat patients. My previous experience as a Patient Care Advocate at Evolve Healthcare has given me a unique perspective on the importance of providing emotional support and encouragement to patients facing challenges during rehabilitation processes. I am also proud to mention my experience as a Personal Trainer at various fitness centers, including Planet Fitness, XSport Fitness, Urban Active, Spectrum Health Clubs, Bally's Total Fitness, and PRN. These roles have honed my skills in customer service, personal training, group fitness, and sales. I am a certified NASM Personal Trainer and Sports Performance Exercise Specialist, with additional certifications in Weight Loss and Corrective Exercise. In terms of education, I hold a Cross Basic Life Support Certification, Adult First Aid/CPR/AED, and an Associate's degree in Applied Health Sciences from Wilbur Wright College. I am also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). I am currently licensed in Illinois and Tennessee, with my Illinois license expiring in 2023 and my Tennessee license expiring in 2024. I have also received various honors and awards, including the Phi Theta Kappa College Honors Award, African American Heritage Award, and being selected as an organizer and trainer for NBC's Biggest Loser.
