Dear Hiring Manager,
I am interested in the Awards Collection Archival Assistant Internship position at the Academy Film Archive. This position interests me because of my passion for film preservation and my interest in working with a renowned film archive.
I am a recent graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where I majored in Film and Television Production. My coursework included classes in film history and preservation, which further stoked my interest in working with an archive. I also have experience working with film and video, both digital and analog, through my work on student film productions. I am confident in my ability to handle and care for film prints and video tapes.
Through my internship at the Academy Film Archive, I hope to gain a better understanding of the inner workings of a major film archive. I am eager to learn about the processes of cataloging and preserving film prints and video tapes. I am also interested in learning more about how an archive acquires and stores its collection.
I am confident that I have the skills and qualifications that you are looking for in an intern. I am excited to put my skills and knowledge to work at the Academy Film Archive and contribute to the important work that you are doing.
Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Michael Aguirre
