Associate Vice President, Mid Market Sales

Fast Future Publishing is launching a regular series of books targeted at a business and generalist audience. Our goal is to profile the latest thinking of established and emerging futurists, foresight researchers and future thinkers from around the world. The books will be published in both print and digital format, with the first publication, The Future of Business, due for release at the start of June 2015. We have created an innovative model that bypasses all of the traditional publishing channels - selling the print book directly from our own website. Profits are shared with the authors and core team working on the book. 10% of profits from the first book will be used to fund scholarships around the world for people wanting to take courses in foresight research and practice. Our entire publishing cycle from idea conception to publication is only four months. The sales team is responsible for the monetization of Future's properties (digital, video and print). The sales team adheres to a rigorous sales process that includes, but is not limited to: lead sourcing deadline management, research and program delivery, from pitch stage to sold programs. Future is looking for an Associate Vice President, Mid Market Sales to help support our rapid scale and make an impact on our revenue goals. You have been a sales leader overseeing teams of varying sizes across the United States selling ad products and solutions to companies in the music, entertainment, finance and lifestyle categories. You will report to the Vice President, West Coast Sales. Your responsibilities include leading team selling digital media (branded content, premium video, and programmatic solutions), managing activities, pipelines, forecasts, and closed deals, building and improving sales processes, empowering your team, assisting in closing complex transactions, developing team goals, reporting growth metrics, planning resource allocation, and negotiating deals. The ideal candidate has a BA/BS degree, extensive media industry sales experience, knowledge of digital, mobile, video, and print, and at least 10+ years of experience including 2+ years leading a team in the Mid Market segment within finance, music, and entertainment. The role offers a salary range of $162,000 - $170,000 plus perks, commission, profit sharing, and other benefits. This is a remote, US-based position available in 34 states.
