Community Engagement Coordinator

The Climate Reality Project Canada is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the climate crisis through education, advocacy, and grassroots activism. Founded by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, the organization focuses on empowering individuals and communities to take action against climate change. It provides resources, training, and support to help Canadians engage in climate advocacy and promote sustainable practices. The mission is to create a sustainable future by mobilizing citizens to demand action from governments and businesses.

The Regional Engagement Coordinator is a champion of networking and of building bridges. This person will act as the main channel between CRP’s Canadian branch office and Lead Mentors / CRLs and Regional Organizers / CCH members in their region, and will also have their tentacles in a variety of internal and external programs in order to enhance collaboration, build partnerships, stimulate the creation of engagement opportunities for CRLs, and help grow the Leadership Corps both in terms of size and of impact. This person will be involved in developing compelling programming for CRLs, and will lead the implementation of existing and new programs in their region.

Regional Engagement Coordinator: Northern Canada

Canada

The Regional Engagement Coordinator is a champion of networking and of building bridges. This person will act as the main channel between CRP’s Canadian branch office and Lead Mentors / CRLs and Regional Organizers / CCH members in their region, and will also have their tentacles in a variety of internal and external programs in order to enhance collaboration, build partnerships, stimulate the creation of engagement opportunities for CRLs, and help grow the Leadership Corps both in terms of size and of impact. This person will be involved in developing compelling programming for CRLs, and will lead the implementation of existing and new programs in their region.Requirements:<ul><li> Minimum 3 years’ experience in campaign coordination or a similar outreach, community engagement, network management or relationship building type role for an environmental or community organization.</li><li> Undergraduate degree in environment, sociology, political science or related fields preferred.</li><li> Strong volunteers’ coordination, advocacy or campaigning, and management experience required.</li><li> Having completed a Climate Leadership Corps Training is considered a strong asset.</li><li> A passion for, and knowledge of, climate change science and solutions are required.</li><li> Deeply rooted in the regional network of climate and community advocates.</li><li> Extensive experience in community organizing and grassroots mobilization.</li><li> Fully fluent in the region’s main language(s), both written and spoken.</li><li> Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.</li><li> Able to communicate professionally and effectively with people from all paths of life.</li><li> Excellent problem-solving ability.</li><li> Results-oriented mindset.</li><li> Very well-organized and detail-oriented.</li><li> Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, adept at Word processing, use of Excel spreadsheets, Airtable, data management, email software, web browsers.</li><li> Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is considered an asset.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li> Remote work flexibility</li><li> Opportunity to work with a mission-driven organization</li><li> Professional development opportunities</li></ul>

This role involves coordinating community engagement efforts in Northern Canada, promoting climate action, and supporting local Climate Reality Leaders. The coordinator will work remotely and must be located in Northern Canada.
