Description
- We are seeking a highly efficient and motivated software engineer to help us prototype new products, components, and systems. These prototypes will be used to validate new technologies and help deliver technology demos based on existing products. The candidate should be able to work in close collaboration with the Systems and Physical AI organizations and deliver on functionality milestones within days or weeks of project initiation. The candidate must have expert-level proficiency in C/C++ and Python, including in resource-constrained embedded environments. The candidate should also have strong understanding of computer architectures used in modern embedded systems.
- We value diverse technical backgrounds; the ideal candidate might come from a mix of high-growth industry roles and deep-tech academic research, provided they can demonstrate a transition toward fast-paced product delivery.
- What you'll do:
- Develop software in C++ and Python over evolving hardware, including chip bring-up, board design, and hardware development.
- Build upon existing drivers and software frameworks, working directly with source code.
- Modify existing components to achieve new functionality.
- Establish streamlined, risk-based code review and CI/CD workflows for rapid iteration.
- Formulate and implement software architectures on short timescales.
- Collaborate with Systems and Physical AI teams.
- Provide technical ownership and support prototypes into production.
- Hand-off prototypes to production teams.
- Bridge theoretical research and physical implementation, re-architecting algorithms into embedded code.
- Create documentation and modular code to accelerate development.
- Leverage AI-assisted coding and simulation tools.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- 2+ years industry experience or 5+ years applied research.
- Advanced proficiency in Python.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Experience in rapid prototyping.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred:
- MS or PhD in relevant fields.
- 5+ years developing software for embedded systems.
- Background in EE, systems, optics, or laser sensing.
- Experience with embedded Linux, chip and board bring-up.
- Knowledge of RTOS, hardware debugging tools, hardware schematics.
- Experience translating academic concepts into prototypes.
- Experience with HIL testing, machine learning deployment on edge devices.
