  • The OT Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting operational technology (OT) networks for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
  • This role is critical to successful commissioning and system handover, ensuring reliable communications between control systems, EMS, PCS, BMS, SCADA, and remote monitoring platforms.
  • This is a field-facing, deployment-oriented role focused on bringing new projects online.
  • Key responsibilities include deploying and configuring OT network infrastructure, supporting commissioning activities, troubleshooting network issues, working with various engineering teams, supporting site bring-up, documenting network architectures, developing standardized deployment procedures, supporting remote monitoring, and traveling to project sites as needed.
  • The role requires experience with deploying OT or industrial networks, understanding TCP/IP fundamentals, hands-on experience with industrial networking equipment, familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, EMS, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Preferred experience includes working with utility-scale BESS, cellular networking, protocols like IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3, and supporting commissioning teams in the field.
  • Success in 6–12 months involves bringing new BESS sites online with stable, secure networks, supporting commissioning timelines, resolving network issues quickly, and improving documentation and standards.

  • Experience deploying OT or industrial networks in the field (power, renewables, utilities, manufacturing, oil & gas, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals in operational environments
  • Hands-on experience with industrial networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls)
  • Familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, EMS, or industrial control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot across network, software, and controls boundaries
  • Comfortable working in commissioning environments with incomplete information and time pressure
  • Willingness to travel to project sites during deployment phases
