Description
- ID.me is looking for a Principal Privacy Engineer with deep expertise in digital identity to design and implement privacy-centric solutions across their platform.
- Responsibilities include developing privacy-preserving identity solutions, integrating privacy-by-design principles into workflows, conducting privacy impact assessments, evaluating privacy-enhancing technologies, and ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
- The role involves reviewing architecture and code, monitoring threats, managing privacy risks, and collaborating with security, IAM, DevOps, and compliance teams.
- The engineer will also develop identity data lifecycle controls, contribute to tooling for privacy dashboards, and participate in incident response planning.
- The position requires full-time in-office attendance at either Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA.
- The salary range is $203,183 - $255,000 USD, with additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), parental leave, unlimited PTO, and more.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 4+ years of technical experience in privacy engineering, IAM, or cybersecurity with a focus on digital identity.
- 1-2 years of deep familiarity with NIST SP 800-63, including IAL, AAL, and FAL requirements.
- 4+ years of experience with identity protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM), authentication systems, and modern IAM platforms.
- 4+ years of strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Node.js).
- 4+ years of proficiency in identity and data protection standards (e.g., FIDO2, TLS, JWT, PKI, encryption at rest and in transit).
