Description
- As a Senior Software Engineer on GitLab's Authorization team you will own significant parts of the system that decides what every user, token, and automated agent can access across GitLab.com, Self-Managed, and Dedicated.
- You will design and ship authorization changes in the Ruby on Rails monolith, build and extend fine-grained permissions for tokens and roles, extend and harden authorization enforcement across GraphQL and REST APIs, refactor policy code so it can be evaluated by both the monolith and a new authorization engine, and improve reliability, performance, and security posture of existing authorization systems.
- The role includes owning workstreams end-to-end from problem definition through feature-flagged rollout, dual-run verification, and cleanup, and partnering with multiple teams as authorization moves toward a shared service.
