Description
- Our client builds APIs and developer tools for businesses working with creators.
- The engineering team handles high-volume background processing, third-party platforms that may change without warning, and customer data that must remain accurate and reliable.
- The role involves building and maintaining production applications using Laravel, PHP, React, and Inertia; investigating production issues through logs, metrics, request flows, and queue behavior; designing reliable queues, workers, and webhook-delivery systems; handling retries, duplicate execution, rate limits, backpressure, worker failures, and slow upstream services; building and maintaining integrations with external and sometimes undocumented APIs; reverse engineering web or API behavior related to authentication, cookies, headers, request signing, rate limits, and other platform controls; creating consistent API behavior across multiple creator and social platforms; improving database queries, worker capacity, job scheduling, and backend performance using measurable evidence; building customer-facing dashboards and internal tools with accurate data; adding automated tests for critical failure scenarios; keeping API documentation, SDKs, and developer tools aligned with production behavior; and independently investigating problems, communicating blockers, and contributing to technical decisions.
- The team is small and asynchronous, reviews progress weekly, and prioritizes production reliability and correct customer data.
- Working-hour overlap, incident coverage, response expectations, and on-call arrangements are discussed before an offer.
