- We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Patchman team.
- You’ll work hands-on with Patchman’s existing and legacy infrastructure, helping stabilize, modernize, and integrate it with our broader platform.
- This includes tackling technical debt, improving reliability and performance, optimizing infrastructure costs, and simplifying systems and processes along the way.
- You’ll collaborate closely with other teams to help build a stronger and more maintainable foundation for the product.
- Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining the Patchman backend infrastructure, developing and maintaining new product features, investigating and resolving complex issues, operating and maintaining a large fleet of dedicated servers, implementing and improving CI/CD pipelines, writing and maintaining comprehensive unit/integration tests, monitoring performance and reliability of production systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend or DevOps Developer
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language
- Experience designing backend services, with a solid understanding of performance, concurrency, scalability, and reliability
- Hands-on experience building and running high-throughput data pipelines at scale using Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies
- Experience with SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, and in-memory databases, such as Redis
- Strong understanding of different data storage paradigms, including relational, NoSQL, and in-memory key-value databases
- Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose for local development and production deployments
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Experience working with monitoring systems
- Solid understanding of CI/CD best practices, including Git, automated testing, and deployment workflows
- Excellent debugging skills and the ability to investigate complex technical issues
- Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret metrics and user feedback to make data-driven decisions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Upper-intermediate spoken and written English
- Experience working with Django
- Experience with configuration management systems, such as Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or similar tools
