Description
  • As a Product Designer in Connect, you’ll design and iterate on high-impact experiences for features like Home, Profile, Notifications, Widgets, Friends, Messages, Sharing, and more across web, iOS, and Android.
  • You will partner with Product, Engineering, and other Product Designers to define requirements, explore design directions, and ensure strong design-to-code alignment.
  • You will use Chess.com design patterns and the established design system to create responsive, interactive experiences, build prototypes using AI-assisted tools, present your work with clear rationale and user insights, and participate proactively in a Slack-heavy remote environment.

Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience working as a Product Designer on a consumer-facing product or game.
  • A portfolio that shows polished UI design for web and mobile apps that clearly demonstrates your personal contribution.
  • Strong command of UI design fundamentals, including typography, color, layout, visual hierarchy, alignment, contrast, and interactivity.
  • Experience working with an established design system using tokens, components, and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with frontend development and how design translates into code.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools like Cursor and Claude to prototype and iterate on ideas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, ownership, and follow-through in a remote, globally distributed team.
  • Requires at least 3 hours of overlap with U.S. working hours.
