About Blockhouse

Blockhouse, founded in 1971 by William Laird, began as a small facility tucked away in the city of Philadelphia, PA. The primary product was occasional tables which branched into lounge seating by the end of the decade. Holding multiple US Patents, Blockhouse Furniture Company moved to Red Lion, PA as part of an expansion and operated within a 66,000 square foot facility. Steve Perko, the current president and owner of Blockhouse joined the company in 1990 as part of the management team. Within twenty years, Perko along with John Brown, purchased Blockhouse and chose to move it to its existing location in Emigsville, PA. With a prospering business and loyal customer base, came the need to expand the facility, and in the next five years the Blockhouse manufacturing plant grew to a total of 221,500 square feet. Dedicated to producing the finest product available, Blockhouse designs, engineers, and manufactures over 95% of their products on site. Recognized as a world-class company, Blockhouse supplies over 1,000 of our nation's colleges and universities as well as behavioral and acute care health facilities and government institutions worldwide. As the company slogan goes, 'Blockhouse builds it to last...'
