Align statewide transportation safety efforts across the Department, with other state agencies, and local jurisdictions. Determine the allocation of safety grants and direction of safety programs that best reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries. Manage up to 21 staff, including a supervisory manager and program managers, by making assignments, evaluating performance and ensuring accountability for safety outcomes central to ODOT's mission. Implement and monitor plans and budgets to meet safety goals and performance measures of the Transportation Safety Office and Agency. Oversee the development and implementation of the Triennial Highway Safety Plan, ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation and Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) requirements. Directly oversee all safety education, training and outreach programs. Represent ODOT as the primary safety contact to Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and on state and federal workgroups and committees.
