Description
- The O&M Technician at xAI is tasked with the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of a 1.2 GW behind-the-meter simple-cycle load following facility with LM6000 aeroderivative gas turbines.
- Responsibilities include control room operations such as starting, monitoring, and shutting down turbines; mechanical maintenance like inspections and unit alignment; electrical testing and troubleshooting; instrumentation calibration; water treatment operations; and supporting outage activities.
- The role requires at least 2–5 years of hands-on experience with LM6000 turbines, competency in multiple core disciplines, and the ability to interpret technical diagrams.
- Physical requirements include working at heights, lifting over 50 lbs, and working in high heat and humidity.
- Preferred qualifications include turbine maintenance certifications, DCS troubleshooting, NFPA 70E safety, and vibration analysis.
- The position emphasizes safety, technical expertise, and teamwork.

Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of direct hands-on experience on LM6000 aeroderivative turbines
- Demonstrated competency in at least three of the five core disciplines: Control Room Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, and Water Treatment/Chemistry
- Ability to read and interpret LM6000-specific P&IDs and electrical diagrams
- Strong computer skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check, drug screen, respiratory fit test, and physical
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and around high-voltage equipment
- Lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, climb turbine enclosures, and wear full PPE including respirator
