- We are currently seeking an experienced Coding Auditor to join our HIM consulting team working remotely from a home office on a full-time basis. Responsibilities include:
- Performing coding audits and reviews on various professional fee record types including Evaluation and Management, surgical CPT, hospitalist, annual well visits, inpatient pro-fee, and outpatient pro-fee.
- Conducting audits across specialties such as Primary Care, ENT, Nephrology, Urology, Cardiology, Thoracic, Neurology, Emergency Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Behavioral Health, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology, etc.
- Performing research to provide clients with supportive regulatory and coding guideline documentation, including Official Coding Guidelines, Medicare/Medicaid Claims Processing Manual, OIG guidance, coverage determinations, and NCCI.
- Assisting in designing and presenting educational seminars to clients and staff.
- Collaborating on senior-level projects such as assessments, tool development, staff education, coding test material, and coding advice articles.
- Ideal candidates will be flexible, detail-oriented, independent, quality-conscious, and adaptable. Qualifications include:
- AHIMA or AAPC certification.
- 2-5 years’ experience performing E/M audits and reviews, with prior coding experience.
- Ability to remain impartial and objective in audit findings.
- Strong computer skills, including EMR systems, UASI audit software, and secure file transfer in compliance with HIPAA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident in on-site and virtual communication.

Requirements
- AHIMA or AAPC certification
- 2-5 years’ minimum experience performing E/M audits and reviews
- Previous coding experience
- Ability to remain impartial and objective in audit findings
- Strong computer skills including EMR systems and audit software
- Ability to transfer files securely in compliance with HIPAA policies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate confidently on site and via webinar/conference calls
