  • Trupanion is looking for a self-motivated individual who is interested in using their investigative nature to lead our North American quality assurance team and help drive quality testing in a rapidly growing, agile organization.
  • You’ll interact with both people and technology to support Trupanion’s internal and external systems and report to the VP of Software Development & Quality Assurance.
  • This is a position open to candidates anywhere in the greater Seattle area.
  • You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.
  • Responsibilities include developing test strategies, managing a team of testers, overseeing end-to-end testing, establishing QA standards, and driving automation initiatives.
  • The candidate will ensure product quality, conduct reviews, drive quality metrics, organize UAT, evaluate testing tools, and communicate with teams.
  • Qualifications include extensive QA experience, leadership skills, knowledge of testing methodologies, automation familiarity, relevant certifications, and experience in regulated environments.
  • Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $160,000 annually, with benefits such as health coverage, paid time off, and stock options.

Requirements
  • 5–10 years of experience in Quality Assurance with a strong track record of driving quality initiatives
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role managing QA teams and mentoring professionals
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Skilled in test planning, execution, and defect management
  • Background in IT infrastructure, particularly with Microsoft Windows and Azure technologies is a plus
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, or Playwright
  • Hands-on experience with tools like SQL, Postman, Jira, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, BrowserStack
  • Relevant certifications including Microsoft Azure (Administrator or Architect level) and Information Security (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are desired
  • Experience in senior testing roles within regulated environments (healthcare, finance) is preferred
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently
