Requirements
  • Possession of a valid New York State Basic Police Officer Certificate (BPOC).
  • 3 years of work experience, or its part-time equivalent, as a police officer or peace officer meeting CFR Part 1542.217 requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Citizenship of the United States.
  • Valid New York State driver's license.
  • Meet physical and medical standards per Municipal Police Training Council.
  • Pass psychiatric and polygraph examinations if required.
  • Good moral character with no felony convictions; misdemeanors or traffic violations may be disqualifying.
  • Must obtain and maintain security clearance and SIDA badge.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing policies.
  • Able to pass background checks and pre-employment physical.
