Requirements
- Possession of a valid New York State Basic Police Officer Certificate (BPOC).
- 3 years of work experience, or its part-time equivalent, as a police officer or peace officer meeting CFR Part 1542.217 requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Citizenship of the United States.
- Valid New York State driver's license.
- Meet physical and medical standards per Municipal Police Training Council.
- Pass psychiatric and polygraph examinations if required.
- Good moral character with no felony convictions; misdemeanors or traffic violations may be disqualifying.
- Must obtain and maintain security clearance and SIDA badge.
- Subject to drug and alcohol testing policies.
- Able to pass background checks and pre-employment physical.
