Description

- The Software Engineer will work at the Texas Rocket Development Facility in Central Texas, as part of the Test Software team.
- This team designs, develops, tests, and maintains software used for test stand data acquisition and control, data post-processing, and other engineering software needs.
- The role involves working closely with test engineers, electrical engineers, and information technology teams to deploy high-performance software for test engineering.
- Responsibilities include architecting and developing software for data acquisition, control, data storage and analysis, automation, and collaboration with various engineering teams.
- The candidate will support active operations, own all aspects of software development, and provide technical leadership.
- Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1+ years of software development experience.
- Preferred skills include experience with National Instruments hardware and software, proficiency in C++, Python, or similar languages, experience managing large distributed systems, and strong communication skills.
- The position requires working in the office, with flexibility for extended hours, weekends, and shifts.
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization is required due to ITAR regulations.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or other science discipline
- 1+ years of experience in software development
- Experience with National Instruments hardware (cDAQ, cRIO, PXI) and software (LabVIEW)
- Proven skills and knowledge with C++, Python, or other text-based programming languages
- Experience in architecting, managing, and integrating large distributed systems
- Strong communication and mentorship skills
- Experience working directly with customers to gather requirements
- Experience with network communication
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively
