Description
- The Cybersecurity Analyst is a member of the Security Operations Center, Cyber Defense team responsible for the protection of Availity’s online and corporate systems.
- This role will actively monitor, analyze, assess, and respond to alerts and detections of abnormal or potential malicious network or host behavior.
- The member will also be regularly exposed to other elements of the Cyber Defense team’s functions such as incident response, host and network forensics, offensive security and cyber threat intelligence.
- This role will be part of a 24/5 work effort, and therefore may be required to work after hours.
- The position is based in Bangalore, India, with a hybrid work model.
- Responsibilities include monitoring security events, filtering and prioritizing detections, analyzing potential intrusions, contributing to threat intelligence, delivering operational metrics, and engaging in purple team exercises.
- The role requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, over 2 years of cybersecurity experience, and familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR platforms, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity concepts.
- Certifications like CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
- The work environment emphasizes continuous learning, collaboration, and the use of modern security tools.
- Video camera usage during virtual meetings is mandatory to ensure security and engagement.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technology field or equivalent work experience in information security.
- Greater than 2 years’ experience in cybersecurity operations.
- Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms.
- Experience with EDR/XDR platforms.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure devices such as firewalls, proxies, routers, switches, IDS/IPS.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as authentication procedures, access controls, encryption.
- Good understanding of modern cyber threats.
- Good understanding of Incident Response principles.
- Good understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Certified in a reputable cybersecurity-related certification such as CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
- Experience or exposure to network or host forensics (preferred).
- Understanding of emerging threats and cyber threat hunting (preferred).
- Experience in incident response actions, from detection to recovery (preferred).
- Active Directory skills and experience (preferred).
